Wineries, lakeside recreation trails, great restaurants, and a vibrant arts scene. Lake wood is sort of like northern California minus the debt and exorbitant house prices. North Central Expressway, East Dallas, Lake Highlands to the north, and I-30 to the south border Lakewood. It is an established area, with home styles from Tudors to Mediterranean, to bungalows.

• Thursdays through October 27th: Concerts at the Arboretum - Some of the most popular concerts in town in a beautiful setting overlooking White Rock Lake
• 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month: White Rock Local Market - A non-profit, independent farmers market, offering a venue for local farmers, ranchers, and artisans to bring what they grow or make and sell directly to our East Dallas neighborhood.
• From September 17 >> November 23: Arboretum's Pumpkin Festival - The grounds will be filled with 150,000 blooming fall flowers and foliage plantings plus more than 50,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds. Guests will discover displays featuring 45 varieties at unexpected locations - stacked near the entrance, lining the Paseo de Flores and marking the steps to the Women's Garden.
